Cholera still kills up to 10 thousand people a year. Japanese scientists have developed a new type of cholera vaccine, genetically modifying round-winding rice sprouts. The new article of The Lancet Microbe magazine describes in detail the results of the first phase of clinical trials of the MUCORICE-CTB vaccine, in which 40 people took part.
